There was still snow on the ground on April 3, 1871 when the Springdale Township Board of Supervisors convened for the first time in the home of Titus Glover. Less than half a decade had passed since the first settlers ventured into the white pine and hardwood forests of Springdale Township to farm, tend cattle, and raise children.
