Annual Clean Up Day - late June - call a Board member or see website to get the exact date
                7:00 AM to 11:00 AM Only (NO DROP OFFS) - at the Township Hall
Go to www.springdaletownship.org for a list of acceptable items and date. Please have trash bagged, bundled or boxed.
Capable persons are required to assist in unloading their items. Please be able to provide proof of residency. Volunteers
and donations are welcome. Call any Board member with questions. Note change in ending time.
Manistee County has a household hazardous waste disposal drop off on the 3rd Saturday in August. Watch the township
website for details.
     An ORV may be operated (maximum speed of 25 mph) on the far right of the maintained portion of a county road in the 
Township except for the following:
          Closed roads - Healy Lake /Thompsonville Road (669), Thirteen Mile Road (600)
          Not after December 1 and not before March 31 of each year
          Any roadway, shoulder or right-of-way of any State or Federal highway including but not limited to M-115
Manistee County Recycling Site
Township Hall, corner of Healy Lake and Glovers Lake Roads (24 Hours-7 Days)
   Items Accepted: Clean glass bottles and jars; Clean steel, tin and aluminum cans; #'s 1-7 plastic. #2&4 grocery bags;
        Paper and Cardboard Boxes (empty and flatten all boxes)
        Paper and Cardboard Boxes can also be left in the PCA trailer at the Betsie Valley School (benefits school programs)

Sanitation Reimbursement
Springdale Township will reimburse residents up to $25.00 per township fiscal year (April 1-March 31) for expenses they
incur to remove garbage, etc. from their property. Receipt(s) must be submitted to the Township Clerk before a check will be
issued.  Request must be RECEIVED prior to the first Monday of the month. Please submit to:

Disabled Veterans Property Tax Exemption
Real property owned and used as a homestead by a disabled veteran or their unremarried surviving spouse is eligible for the
exemption. The disabled veteran must have been honorably discharged from the armed forces of the US. They must be a
Michigan resident and must meet one of the these criteria: a)determined by the US Dept of Veterans' Affairs to be permanently
and totally disabled as a result of military service and entitled to veterans' benefits at the 100% rate; b)has a certificate from
the US Veterans' Admin. certifying that he or she is receiving or has received pecuniary assistance due to disability for spec-
ially adapted housing; c)has been rated by the US Dept of Veterans' Affairs as individually unemployable. Some form of 
documentation from the US Dept of Veterans' Affairs is required to qualify. Call the assessor if eligible. More information is

Township Compliance Officer (vacant)
   This person is responsible for enforcement of Springdale Twp. ordinances. Duties include investigating possible non-
compliant sites and discussion with property owners based on written complaints. Officer works with property owner to 
resolve issues and if necessary initiates and serves formal violation notices
